GR33TZ 2 ALL ZXERZ!!!!! Welcome to the new demo from Gasman, Exin and Mister Beep named -= Vodkemon =-... presented at International Vodka Party 2006. -=-=- Gasman at the keyboard... it's quarter to eight, we're at Yerzmyey's place, the party is just getting going and WE HAVE BEEEER!!! Huzzah! Oh wait, no, we have vodka instead. Apparently. Yerz is insisting that I have some coke with it, "after what happened last time", which is quite worrying as I don't remember what happened last time. Um. Some words about this demo, then... it basically came about at the suggestion of that shadowy figure, Mister Beep, who was putting together the virtuoso three-movement performance of Complications you just heard. He emailed me for a bit of help fixing up one of the players, and oh, by the way, wouldn't it be good if it could be made into a minidemo for International Vodka Party? And lo, it seemed like a good idea, but at the time I was busy trying to make something for Breakpoint, so I quietly filed it behind the sofa for later. But then, at Breakpoint, I bumped into Exin, who mentioned that he had some graphics to use up, and wouldn't it be good if they could be used in a collaboration? So it had to be done, really. The coding was done in a mad rush... mostly here at Yerz's house this morning actually, fuelled by some nuclear coffee provided by Hellboj. This was highly necessary, because I spent last night on a hellishly uncomfortable National Express coach to Stansted Airport instead of somewhere more sensible, like, for example, a bed. =-=-=-=-= Bonjourno, Equinox here, and I have just stolen Gasman's laptop as he goes to purge his vile and vodkinous bladder. Today I am mostly drinking Zywiec (much-recommended Polish beer) and eating some kind of spicy sausage. I have been told by men in dark glasses that I must not reveal the secret identity of Mister Beep; however, he is not either of us. And now a word about this pretty music (Gasman's creation OF COZ): it is Green Hill Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog 1, and was originally made for Sonic ZX game project, which seems to have made no progress in ten years - therefore the gaseous fellow has decided to use it in a demo. Now I must venture to the kitchen as I require more of your Earthling "beer". xoxo, Eq. =-=-=-=-= well it's me mysteer bleep ho ho ho, drink beer and wodka, or you will DIE!!! =-=-=-= Gasman back again. Thanks to Mister Bleep (?) for that public service announcement. Wise words indeed. While the keyboard was doing the rounds, I've been watching a lizard's head explode repeatedly. Not really of course, the power of suggestion. Pinokio loaded up Draconus on the Atari, at everyone's insistence due to the wonderful music, and I observed that it has the GREATEST death animation EVVAR. It also mentions Michael Owens in the credits, which we think must be evidence of a sinister experiment in cloning footballers. Well, if an infinite number of monkeys in front of typewriters can recreate the entire works of Shakespeare, it's only reasonable to assume that an infinite number of footballers in front of Ataris can code Draconus. Beer is calling, BRB... =-=-= Eq: you mean "BEER-R-B". Hahah. Thank you ladies and gentlemen, I'm here all week! =-=-=-EQUALSminusEQUALS-= <gasman> beer is here again. I've picked out a can of "Tyskie", which sounds like it ought to be a brand of cat food or something, but under close inspection, the contents of the can do indeed appear to be liquid and amber-coloured. Which is good enough for me. (update) it also appears to have made me slightly more drunk, which is an even more positive sign. =-=-=-=... bah, what sort of ascii art is that anyway? let's have some fish instead. ><> ><> ><> ()< ()< Stronger alcohol has been unleashed on the unsuspecting crowds. Woo. Home-brew slivovice, in fact. It appears to have the uncanny ability to send Polish people cowering in fear, but it's really not that bad actually. A lot smoother than vodka I reckon. Slips down niiiice and easy. --- hi:) it's me:) Wookash:) i just can't this fucken klawiatura:)!!! this it's the end for now from me:( =-=-=-= <gasman> Hmm. Perhaps I should explain that this scrolly is being typed on my three (four? hmm, I lose count. but I digress) year old Apple iBook, which, as much of a Chick Magnet as it is, has tragically lost many of the markings on its keys through years of over-use. Apparently this confuses people. Personally, I'd blame it on the weapons-grade slivovice. -=- I should probably say something about Breakpoint I suppose, while it's still in my relatively-short-term memory. That would presumably involve something more insightful than "it rocked", though. Um... Well. The food was much better than last time - I was able to survive the entire party without exceeding the Recommended Daily Allowance of currywurst. And the live acts... omg lol rulz omg omg etc. I have listened (and danced like a maniac) to a live rendition of the Dreamchild soundtrack, and now I can die happy. Oh, and the compo prods weren't bad either. Even if some of the results had a bad case of TEH NAMEVOTING. I've come to the conclusion that music compos are a bit of a waste of time really - it's all about showmanship, rather than who can write the best track. So, um, I should stick to writing demo soundtracks. Which would seem to necessitate writing demos. I guess. -=- In a bizarre turn of fate, alcohol has now been replaced with... borscht. Cue extended long-winded conversation about whether the glass of vibrant purple liquid in front of us is in fact derived from beetroot (IT IS, DAMN IT) or whether it has something to do with turnips. Quite frankly I'm not so concerned about that, and rather more concerned about the fact that I now have a large purple stain on my t-shirt and I'm not sure whether I'm going to be able to shift it with ordinary laundry detergent. It's a very good t-shirt too. It has extreme sentimental value, because I got it from the Forever Quattro party. I can't remember why. I think it was because I won the award for joint-furthest-travelled visitor to the party. But now I've lost my train of thought, because Hellboj is attempting to spoon frozen lager into Pinokio's trousers. Oh yes. The night is still young. The Atari has been unplugged. It has been replaced by an Elwro Junior. Which is an exceptionally odd Spectrum clone incorporating a music stand. As I understand it, this allows you to type in listings from magazines while pretending you're Sergey Rachmaninov. Dum, dum, da-da-dum, da-da-dum-dum, de- du-da-dum, dum dum, 10 LET l=5: GO SUB 9000 20 FOR n=1 TO dum diddleum diddleum diddleumdiddleumdiddleumdiddleum POM diddleumPOM DATA 60, 66, 127, 66, dum diddleiddleiddleiddle om pom POM POM POM. -=-=- To the immediate right of me, Equinox is having a geography lesson which appears to involve the city of Gdansk declaring independence. And being a spikey bit on a map. And now we must go to a shop for more beer. All hail 24 hour beer shops. Hallelujah. Polish Vodka'gasman, drink some vodka' said jad... Joun Poul II he LoVeS You -=- Hello boys and girsl, TDM speaking. Sad to say it is Saturday and long journey behind us. Fucking road on Czech and Polish said. Fortunatelly, we have great old school car Skoda Favorit Fucking Road Edition :-) Finally I managed a MOD song for compo. -=-=- <gasman> oh yes, the MOD compo. I really wanted to do an entry for that, because it's about time I got into tracking on the PC properly, but I didn't have time, so that'll have to wait. Maybe I'll get something done for the forthcoming UKscene Allstars music disk, if that ever gets off the ground. Or another iPod demo. Bah, too much stuff on the go at once, that's my problem. Oh well, might as well get at least one project finished off... time to end this scrolly. See you in the next demo, whatever that may be...
